Querky filing

Sometime ago I wrote something about making an unusual filing cabinet out of… a linen chest. Well, I am glad to say that I have finished it yesterday. Apart from a couple of bits to finish off, here is what it looks like.

It is bigger than a normal filing cabinet, looks much nicer and stops putting lots in there that is not making the best of it. I sincerely hope that this will help me towards a happier filing!

For the ones who want to know how I have done it. Chip in 4 square holes with a chisel  for some square metal rods (this is what I found but it could have equally been round), add a bit of wood at the end to screw into the inside of the chest and stain to match existing wood. Left to do? find something like a resin or similar to keep the rod in place and it is done. Happy me! One project down, many more to go!!
